  • How to remove black marks from local car wash

Well I had to use my car during the winter. So I had a tough choice of not washing the car and allowing the snow and salt to do damage, or wash my car at a local car wash. I have no garage so me washing my car in 10 degree weather is out of the question. Its warm now, but my white Trans Am has black marks or scuff marks all over. Is there a way to remove these? I do have Porter cable would this work? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

unfortunately because of my job and school I didn't have time so I had to use roll through, you know the ones with flaps that spin.

something you could try: claying, maybe a paint cleaner, then waxing
since you sound like you don't really have the time, you may have to use the PC to buff'em out.
by the way, do you have a caprice?

Here are the marks (I just took them so they may be dark).

Here is the car in its glory before being driven all through winter

And yes I do have a caprice its a '94. Its out of commision because the engine black cracked last winter (reason why I had to use my TA).

Scratch X on a Meguiars yellow foam pad. My sis was here the other day and her fiance took the car through the swirl machine and I noticed black marks all over the car White Mazda 6. Scratch X worked wonders, wipped off topped with a sealant and all fixed

I bet you could get them out by hand, if the clay itself doesn't get it out.
Beautiful caprice I wish I had a few more. I'm pretty much a fanatic of those 91-96's.

Just to be safe, clay actually does not remove swirls or scratches. Clay works by abrading away contamination that is bonded to the surface of the paint, but will not remove paint in the way a polish would which would result in a surface that was level and without swirls or scratches.

Hope that helps to clear things up!
