  • Meguiar's Pro Detailing Clay Mild and UQD?

I purchased the Pro detailing clay mild and accidentally purchased Ultimate quick detailer as a lubricant. I do not have anything else to use. Is this an acceptable substitute for a lubricant??

I forgot to ask; if this will not work, what is a readily available product I can by from a local autoparts/walmart/napa place that will work with it?

No, UQD will not work as a lubricant. Quick Detailer will if you can find it. Only other spray detailers I can think of if you can't buy Quick Detailer are:

      (1) Eagle One Wipe and Shine

      (2) Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer

      (3) Black Magic Wet Shine Spray Detailer

These are the only ones I could think of off the top of my head that I've seen at either Wal-Mart or local automotive stores. I'm sure the Eagle One or the Mothers would work the best (I've used the Mothers Showtime and it's pretty good); not sure about the Black Magic though. But if they're for claying I'm sure any one of them would get the job done. Hope this helps!

Should be able to just go and find the regular Meguiars Quick Detailer at most any store. Just buy a bottle or two.

And no, you dont want to use the UQD, it wont work as well, besides costing more.

If you want to go the bulk route like myself (even though I don't work in bulk; I'm just not a general fan of buying bottle after bottle of spray after spray etc so a lot of what I buy is from the Mirror Glaze or Detailer line--much of it larger sizes than the bottles found in stores of course),

go to Meguiars' homepage, click "Community", then "Dealer Locator", then click the "Professional Products" box, then call a couple of the local paint distributor/shops in your area. Ask for a gallon of Megs Last Touch (Full Strength detailer spray or dilute 1:1 for clay lube) and that'll run you ~$18. My local shop didn't have it, so they simply ordered it in for free in literally a couple days. Awesome.

Go with the Last Touch diluted 1:1, or the quik detailer. Do not use the uqd for claying.

Thanks everyone! I will find some quick detailer today and order the bulk for the future
