From the looks of your photograph it appears to be a paint prep defect below your clear.

Re: how to get this stain off my hood??
I've seen that exact thing on a hood on a light color nissan we have. repeated claying and scratchx got it almost invisible to the naked eye.

Re: how to get this stain off my hood??
Had a stain similar to that on the hood of my Vette. Scratchx would not remove it with a foam applicator, but when I used a cotton towel to apply the scratchx and a Microfiber towel to remove it, it came right out.

You would have to bring your car to Meguiar's garage in Irvine before 8:00am or after 3:00pm.
With 35+ people attending this class it keeps a person busy...

Re: how to get this stain off my hood??
Thanks for the info Mike, but i don't know if i can wait that long, if you know what i mean.
this pisses me off so much. i couldn't get this **** off with clay bar and i bought some tar/sap remover and that didn't help either.

The fact that you can't feel the stain and you've applied ScratchX 2.0 numerous times is in indicator the stain is throughout the layer of clear paint and not just on the top of the paint.
Clear coat paint is pretty dense and stains, (chemicals), don't easily penetrate into them but it can happen.
You could try Ultimate Compound, it's more aggressive but you have to be careful as you have a limited thickness of clear paint to work with.
Stains are either topical or they have penetrated into the paint, if they're topical then they can be removed fairly easily.

has this ever happened to anyone else? i mean, it looks like bird poop but could it actually be something else?
