from the touch of my hand and fingers, i do not feel anything, feels smooth.

i used the scratchx 2.0 for like a good 1 minute on the thing, using a microfiber foam applicator in circles and back and forth.

I could be wrong but it may very well be trapped under the clear coat and may not be removable.

maybe Mike will chime in on this.

I would try claying it. If that doesn't work, it's a good idea to try ScratchX again.

Try the clay bar tomorrow. If it doesn't work out then we'll go from there. How long do you think it's been there?

for some reason did someone drop a cigarette on your hood. because it looks like tar when u leave it there.

i think i just spent the last 10-15 mins using scratchx 2.0 on the same spot. not a whole 15 mins, rested 3 times about 2 mins apart. still not coming off. i can't feel the stain. but i'm thinking that clay bar won't work since i can't even feel it on the surface.

has this ever happened to anyone else? i mean, it looks like bird poop but could it actually be something else?

The fact that you can't feel the stain and you've applied ScratchX 2.0 numerous times is in indicator the stain is throughout the layer of clear paint and not just on the top of the paint.

Clear coat paint is pretty dense and stains, (chemicals), don't easily penetrate into them but it can happen.

You could try Ultimate Compound, it's more aggressive but you have to be careful as you have a limited thickness of clear paint to work with.

Stains are either topical or they have penetrated into the paint, if they're topical then they can be removed fairly easily.
