#21 Sealant 2.0?

Very new to detailing, Right now I'm using ultimate quick wax and quick detailer in between. I would like to use the #21 sealant 2.0. My question, can I use this on top of the wax that I already have on the car and how many coats do you recommend?
Also, it's going to be 100 degrees and above real soon and my car is going to be outside all the time, is this product good to use in this envinronment? thanks

Well, Nxt Tech wWax 2.0 is supposed to be the most durable, and the #21 2.0 is very similar.

The general recomendation would be 2 thin coats onto a well prepared surface.

So, there is no problem layering it on top of what is there, as long as he surface and wax is in good shape.

If not, you would want to clay and clean the paint before applying.

Claying is a good idea if you've never done it as Murr said. You won't believe what you get off of your paint when you clay!

Other than that, M21 is good stuff, part of my arsenal!

#21 is a great product. down here in Florida it gets warm all summer. 321 is my go to sealant. I use it year round with no issues.

As always the key is a properly prepared surface. If you have never clayed, by all means do so. Then apply the #21 in 2 thin even coats.

You should be happy with the results.

Okay, this is what I plan to do and the materials I'm planning to use, what do you think?
Materials:
1. Clay kit...http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/produc...p?T1=MEG+G1016
2. #21 Sealant 2.0 for final step.
3. Ulitimate quick wax for maintenance.
4. Quick detailer for in between washing and waxing.
I'm planning to use the quick wax a week after the sealant.

I will do a drive thru wash before claying and will use the quick detailer for lubing and for final cleaning, sealant right after claying. Is this a good prep work? thanks

If it were me, I would at least do:

1. Wash
2 .Clay
3. ColorX
4. #21

I was going to do a quick express wash just to get the dirt off then with a quick detailer to finish the wash, then claying using the QD as lubricant. In my community we're just not allowed to do a complete hose down car wash. Is there any spray type wash you can recommend? I'll check out the color x, thanks.

Thanks. One more thing, I checked out the Color x, it's wax and polish, can it be applied before sealant? I thought you shouldn't wax before sealing?

You should think about ONR. (Optimum No Rinse)
Going through the car wash is like swirl sealant for me.
Others will chime in with their ONR expertise, or do a search.
Love the #21. Let us know how it goes.

ColorX is a cleaner/polish/wax, and yes, it would be a great way to prep the paint before #21. And it counts as your first coat of wax, so just one coat of #21, and you're done.

Oh yeah, No more drive thru car washes for me. Optimum no rinse method from now on. I will start the project as soon as I put together the material, thanks for the help.

Ok, with no rinse wash, meaning no undercarriage wash. Do we even need that?

You could go to a coin-op place and hose the under carriage out. I'd do it before your detailing though, since the soaps are strong.

I could do that or just go thru the express wash just for the undercarriage and skip the washing. I don't really go thru any dirt road, I doubt I even need that, maybe once every few months, just like you said before detailing, thanks.
