Re: What to do with this?

Looks like the beginning of clear coat failure and if that's the case there is no way to fix it except to repaint the panel or the entire car.

Re: What to do with this?

I was hoping for a different answer, but I'll face the facts.

I recently got a 7424 XL Pad kit from Autogeek, along with M105 and M80.

The M105 on both Yellow and Orange pads didn't do anything. M80 on Orange helped a little, but didn't remove any of the oxidation.

One thing I did notice with the M105, in general, was that it dries really quick and I was having alot of trouble removing it. The M80 removes little easier but if left on more than a minute it becomes really hard to take off.

I'm going to try a different pad with the M105 with a different pad to see if I get any better results.

Is there any chance I might be able to clean up the clearcoat by wetsanding it myself? It hasn't peeled or cracked yet that I can tell.

I did some work on the roof today.

Wetsanding lightly at 1000, then buffing with 105/orange, then 80/orange seemed to clear it up a little bit, but not all. The oxidation/clearcoat failure is deeper than I can sand through without respraying the roof.

Some Gold Class wax and it is noticeably deeper in gloss. I'm going to hit the rest of the roof in certain areas and do a full 105/80 and see how it goes.

Also, I don't have the recommended wool pad for the 105, but I have been using the LC orange, and seems to be working ok. Would there be a better option for the 105 other than Wool?

That defiantly sounds like CC failure
            Not oxidization
Nothing you do can remove it
You can only do what you did, or repaint.

Yea, I've had the body shop here at work look at it, and it's not very bad, but it will need to be resprayed soon.

Good news is they can do it cheap (employee cost) and it's a professional job too.

For right now, I'm going to wetsand and buff out what I can until I can get it to them for paint.
