Re: california duster
Those of you that use the Duster all the time, how do you clean them?
I bought a Cal Duster right after I bought my black Camry. When it started looking like it had collected too much dirt I decide to wash it. Big mistake. I ended up having to throw it away.

Simply shaking them after use is sufficient to maintain it, according to the instructions.
I once accidentally dropped a duster during use. It landed on the street and may have picked up some debris so I just threw it away.
As long as you use it for a day's worth of dust (light dust), it shouldn't need to be washed.

Re: california duster
Technique is everything with the duster.....just glide it accross the paint.....no downward pressure at all.-Bob

Re: california duster
I've been using the big Cal Duster daily on my black truck and so far so good. I use no pressure when gliding it across the paint. I figure if the duster can't get it with a light pass it's too dirty to be dry dusted.Alex C.

Re: california duster
now that I detailed my car, I'm ultra paranoid about letting anything touch the paint. but like guys are saying, technique is everything; not only do you NEVER apply downward pressure, I don't even let the duster rest on horizontal surfaces. I hover it over the paint and sweep it back and forth. it works best when you got some healthy layers of wax on the finish. stuff sweeps right off, no micro marring, or anything! forget about using it in the hot sun, though.

Re: california duster
Glide it lightly across the paint, never wash it, just shake it out, use it every day and you will be amazed how much cleaner your car stays!
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.

Re: california duster
I used one for years and loved it. The California Duster has treated fibers. I certainly wouldn't wash it.
