  • Looking for a good interior cleaner

    Hello

I'm new to car care and I've started to gather all the products i need.
And I'm trying to find a good cleaner for interior that cleans well and leave a nice shine without giving a greqasy touch.

I tried Armor All wipes, it cleans ok and shines alright but it makes everything super slippery...

Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. my interior finish is black rubber/vinyl.

    Welcome to Meguiars Online!!
I would go with Quik Interior Detailer and Natural or Supreme Shine.

i'm with them on their product suggestions, but remember to clean the surface thourghly with water and a very mild soap, most people like to use a woolite mixture. Cleaning the surface properly i feel in theory will allow the products to bond better to the surface and last longer, IMO.

What are you working on? As in what kind of car or truck?

Are you looking for a product just for your own car or a product for a detailing business?

If your interior is dirty and smudged up, you are going to need to clean it off before you dress it.

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

            I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
            Remove swirls my friends.

I like working with M40, gives good shine and is a good mild cleaner

If you dont want to order online though the QID is a must, awesome product with a nice matte finish and great protection!

edit: and if you want some shine, throw some supreme shine on there like carfire said, basically what ever megs product you get it will work great

Keep it simple, get some of this and a collection of quality microfiber polishing cloths.

                  G13616 Quik Interior Detailer

IF you don't already own a collection of quality microfibers then here's how many you need...

"Enough to make a small wash load"

That's about a dozen or so. The idea being that you don't want to mix your microfiber polishing cloths with other types of towels or clothes and it never seems right to wash like 3-4 small things, so invest in enough microfiber to make a small wash load and then purchase a dedicated clothes hamper for your microfibers and store them their after use and until you're ready to make a small wash load to wash and dry them.

Does that make sense? See this thread for even more information on this topic,

How many microfiber polishing cloths do I need to detail my car?

Use a clean microfiber polishing cloth folded 4-ways to clean your car's interior. Take the UQD and spray it onto one side of your folded microfiber polishing cloth until it's lightly dampened and then use this dampened side to wipe down the interior of your new car. Use UQD on anything but the window glass and any kind of cloth fabric like carpet, suede, etc.

You can use UQD on both leather and vinyl seats.

Great product, easy to use, spectacular results, fresh scent, maintains a new look, leaves behind some UV protection.

What more can you ask for?

Re: Looking for a good interior cleaner

If you need to pre clean the surface of light dust then Quik Interior Detailer will work just fine. But if you have a heavy buid up of dirt or dust then something like APC or APC Plus would wok good.

After this you an dress the surface with an interior protectant. If you like a low gloss shine then M40 and Natural Shine work great. If you like a higher gloss interior protectant, then Supreme Shine Protectant or NXT Tech Protect give a high gloss look.

Then you can maintain your interior with Quik Interior Detailer if you want.

Thanks a lot for all the replies.

Just 1 last thing, would it get greasy with Natural shine or Supreme shine?
Cause when I use those Armor All Wipes, it made everything so slippery...

Apply Natural Shine or Supreme Shine with a foam applicator pad to your interior and after your done applying it to the whole interior or anywhere else, come back with a clean microfiber and remove excess product.

Sometimes I dont even have to do this when using Natural Shine or Supreme Shine Protectant because they do such a good job on their own of not leaving that oily and greasy feeling behind.

These are probably my two new favorite interior protectants and I always like to have them on hand for when I have to detail an interior.
