  • First time using PC 7336 - 07' Black 300C

Hi there, I have a new PC 7336, and picked up a starter kit with Lake Country Pads, (1) Orange Mild Cutting, (1) White Polishing, (1) Black finishing. Also new to me (had for one month) I have a 2007 Pearl Black 300C. Has some light swirling from being washed by someone else.
For product I have Meguiars Pro-Mild Clay, Swirl Remover 2.0, NXT

    1) Wash Car
    2) Clay car
    3) Use Swirl remover 2.0 (With Orange pad???)
    4) NXT by hand, remove with 7336 using black pad?

Am I on the right track?

Pretty good....but not to sure on the orange vs. white. Try the white one first with Swirl Remover, if that is not aggresive enough, then go to the orange. It is always better to use the least aggressive method 1st.

Another suggestion...apply the NXT Generation Tech Wax by with the black finishing pad (no bonnet on it at all). This will lay down a uniform and even coat, allowing you to remove it very very easily by hand at that point. Almost a one pass wipe off.

Let us know how it turns out.

I'm not familiar with the LC pads, so hopefully someone else can chime in.

Just curious, when you apply NXT by hand, why are you taking it off with the black finishing pad? I would just apply by hand and remove using a high quality microfiber.

Also, look at the two-bucket method for washing your car. It will help reduce the swirls inflicted during washing.

      Hope that helps!

OK, thanks, so I'll start with swirl remover applied with the white pad, I assume at about speed 4. I'll also try applying NXT with the black, I guess I thought you take it off with a pad thinking that like "buffs" the shine in or up if you will but I think I am starting to understand that the key is to get it applied evenly.

You may want to have some NEW formula M105, as well as M205 on hand as well just to be safe. Swirl Remover is a fairly gentle product and many use it with a more powerful rotary buffer when removing deeper swirls.

The reason I suggest having them on hand is that it would be a bummer to plan out a day for a detail, get it washed, and then realize the Swirl Remover wasn't aggressive enough for your application. It is always wise to have backup plans.

also, having only 1 of each pad worries me because I know I use at least 4 pads for every detail. You might want to grab another orange and white, or a pair of Meguiar's yellow pads (they are very versatile as they will offer cut while still being very safe and leave a more LSP ready finish than orange often does).

          Hope this helps.

Best to do a test spot with the #9(2.0) and the polishing pad. Then you will know if you need to step up to the 105 or the 205. A finishing pad can be used to apply your LSP or can be used with a pure polish like DC2 or#7.
