Re: Rain X? Windsheild only or all windows?

I just found an unused bottle of RainX in my storage today and decided to use it on all of my windows. It never rains here in SoCal so I don't even know why I used it. If I lived in Seattle or somewhere where it rains a lot I would probably invest in some Aquapel, but for now RainX works for me.

I actually tend to use RainX like a wax, then UQD after washing. Just got my bottle of UQW to try out next time.

Just wondering if you guys find that using a quick detailer (I've used Optimum and an off-brand on my windshield) that when I have to use the wipers it made a smeary mess that I couldn't see through very well.

It would smear to much and the wipers didn't last as long.

I use RainX on the windshield only. I personally saw little benefit applying it anywhere else. If I had a car with a rear windshield slanted like that of an Acura RSX, then I'd put RainX on that too.

Now we are talking. Aquapel is one of the best rain repellant products I have ever seen. Rain-X just makes a mess on my windows. Also, I've found a light coat of Collinite 845 works well on the windshield.

I dont like aquapel because i have to get up to 55 mph before the rain starts to fly off. With rain-x, it flies off at like 35-40 mph

I use aquapel. I put it on all the windows.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

when I have used it I did all windows. I use either aquawax or UQW when I touch up the car after a wash now on the windows

I clean mine with glass cleaner and they bead water?

I saw Invisible Glass with water repellent in Target the other day, but was reluctant to buy it based on the poor performance I've had with Rainx glass cleaner. I can't imagine the water beading action would be that good.

Hi. Try nano sealant instead. Its ALOT better than Rain X. Rain X is bad compared to nano when it comes to durablity.

Nanolex? Aquaglass? GTechniq? .. so many nano coatings out there.

Maybe one of these days I try some but for a normal car guy like me, it takes the fun out of cleaning the car every week/month. No need to seal or wax for a year or so, I think I'd probably go crazy.
