Any Professional can recommend?

Last week, I carried out a full details on my Pearl White Civic, ie.wash, clay, ColorX, M21 2.0(2 coats). Next following days, my ride was caught in the heavy rain. The rain was so heavy that it lasted till night. Next morning, I can see trails of black marks and black dots on the car paintwork.

I washed my ride and some of the stubborn trails of black marks and black dots are still onto the paintwork. I wouldn't want to go through the entire processes (colorX, M21 2.0) since it was just applied and there was no soil oxidation.

Now, I'm looking for a QD (liquid type) which has a little cleaning capability to remove the trails of black marks on the paintwork and yet it restores my 'Just Detailed' looks.

Any Professional can recommend?

Hi bro. I'm from sg too.
I guess ur black trail marks come from door handles and other areas where grease might be washed out due to the heavy rain. also because ur car is white it might be more obvious then other cars. if it is indeed grease from inside handles might just wanna try washing it with ur car wash/shampoo?

i'm not sure if meg's spray products will effectively clean those stubborn marks away for u but one real handy spray is meg's Ultimate Quick Detailer. use it after every wash and dunno if u already know it spray onto your wind screen and wipe off next time light rain dun need use wiper cause the rain just beads and flows off while driving. alot of singapore washes charge crazy amounts for that when its just as simple as spraying some UQD or similar product.

Yeah, What exactly is this "black stuff"

Is it dirt that you may have missed when washing the car???

Some older car's trim will start to deteriorate, and it will actually wash down onto the paint in common drip spots and over time stain the paint. This however takes time usually, and if it is fresh you should be able to remove it fairly easy- but be careful because you do not want to rub this substance into the paint and cause further damage.

I would suggest washing the vehicle, and then if anything remains go over the area with a clay bar. If there is still something there, then a paint cleaner would be your next best bet. Have you tried just ColorX in that area? If you just go over the stained areas with ColorX, you should then be able to simply re-wax those areas with the M21 2.0- you do not need to do the entire car.

Now, all that said, if you still insist on starting with just a spray I would start with Last Touch, NXT Speed Detailer, or simple Quik Detailer.

I washed it with NXT, some light area with 2-3 passes can remove but some required 6 - 8 passes and I don't think this is the way to remove as it may scratch the paintwork.

I wouldn't want to go through the entire processes (colorX, M21 2.0) again since it was just applied only a few days back neither I want to clean with Paint Cleaner as it will remove my sealant.

Now, I'm looking for a QD (liquid type) which has a little cleaning capability to remove the trails of black marks (after the NXT wash) and yet it restores 'Just Detailed' looks.

I know that apply QD or UQD onto a MF and clean wipe it do have a 'cleaning' capability, but what I'm looking for is the QD or UQD that itself has a cleaning capability and it makes the cleaning a lot much easier.

However, if you have any alternative suggestion, you are welcome.

Since washing isn't removing the stains, have you thought about going over the affected areas (just the affected areas) with ColorX again with a foam applicator? That should remove the stains. You could then top the affected areas with M21. No need to re-wax the entire car.

Thanks for the suggestion. If I'll do spot cleaning, my concern is that the particular area is kind of more whiter/cleaner than the rests.

This should work.

Those stains are dirt stains and probably residue from rubber gaskets around the door and they're topical, that is they've only affected just the upper surface level of the paint and ColorX should easily remove them.

Maybe clean your door jambs really well and especially the rubber gaskets around the door, the problem is probably dirt caught in the door jambs around the rubber gasket and rubber particles of the rubber gasket coming off via deterioration.

You might also clean the rubber gaskets and the dress them really well using

G10810 Gold Class Trim Detailer




Apply some of the above dressing using a small piece of terry cloth and work it really well over and into the rubber gasket and any black rubber or plastic trim on your car.

After rubbing the trim really well with this product allow it to penetrate for a few minutes and then use a clean dry cloth to re-wipe all the trim to remove any excess. This will show up as a black residue on your cloth and it's this residue on the cloth that is running onto your paint and staining it.

Given that you have already polished the entire car with ColorX, I do not think you have to worry that the re-done area will stand out as whiter or shinier than the rest. Once the stains are removed and #21 re-applied, you won't be able to tell a difference between the re-done area and the rest of the car--at least that's my guess. I've had to do spot-removal of tar on my hood, using a much stronger product, followed by waxing of the affected area, and I couldn't see a difference after it was all done.

It looks like there is no QD that has a cleaning capability to remove the trails of black mark/stain.

Alternatively, is there any liquid Paint Cleaner instead of cream type?
