  • Rookie Bonded Contaminent Question

I know there are two types of bonded contaminents: the above surface and below surface. I also know you use a clay bar on the above surface and a cleaner/polish for the below surface. I have always heard you need to clay it first beford you tackle the contaminents below the surface. My question is if you plan on using the cleaner/polish wouldn't it knock both of them out at one time and remove all the contaminents?

To clear things up a little bit.

You clay to remove above surface contaminants and you use a Paint Cleaner or Cleaner Polish to remove below surface defects

And you wash to remove loose contaminants that have not yet bonded to the paint

The foam pad will actualy skip over them if they are well bonded. And if they are not well bonded, they can come off and drag across your paint.

          No, you need to:

          1. Wash
          2. CLAY
          3. Then Cleaner Polish

Clay will actually pick up and remove bonded objects. You need to do both
