Re: NXT Generation Wax 2.0 vs. 26 Tech yellow wax

I really like using NXT Wax. And I really like using #16.
Now, back in germany there is lots of discussion about topping NXT Wax with #16. I learned from Mikes post about layering waxes and/or sealants, that one cannot really see the difference between NXT only and NXT topped with e.g. #16...
But... How about the lasting time? Test we made in our forum community made it clear, that #16 last a way longer then NXT wax... So... wouldn't this be a good excuse to top NXT with #16?

Not going to get into this debate, but just wanted to point out that #26 will not stain trim. From my experience, #26 dries clear, and will not stain trim.

      Carry on....

Re: NXT Generation Wax 2.0 vs. 26 Tech yellow wax

Sorry for reviving a thread that has been inactive for a month or so

Anyway, to me NXT 2.0 cannot be compared with M26 for one particular reason. M26 can be applied every other 2 months or so after a car wash because of its polishing agent. The M26 Tech Yellow Wax is a pure wax and should the surface must be prepared properly before application.

Because of employment obligations, I am limited to detailing my cars once a year. I want my paint protection to last as long as it possibly could. For that reason, I do a very thorough job claying, cut polishing, and waxing my car to ensure that my protection could last as long as it could.

Personally I find topping off M26 over NXT 2.0 has given me extremely long protection in the environment my cars are subject to.

What kind of employment obligations only allow you to detail your car once a year? Thats terrible!

I really like DC3. All in all,I like all waxes. They do have different appearences, but I don't have a particular preference.I prefer the work before the wax application.Next time might be NXT....Gold Class..or Carnauba again???

I find NXT 2.0 has this "darkening" effect as well, but not quite as dramatic as the yellow wax. While the "darkening effect" of a wax does not require much (if any) exotic or costly material, it is reported that some of the more expensive boutique waxes have this characteristic. It doesn't darken the paint as in turning the color from white to gray. No, darekning, to me, means altering the gloss and depth of the surface under certain lighting conditions.

Here is my white car with M26:

NXT will darken some paint as well. Maybe if you think of it as "deepening" the color it will make more sense. A deeper black is a blacker black, a deeper red is a redder red, and a deeper white is a brighter white. Of course white generally doesn't show depth and wetness to the same degree as darker colors, so many people really like the very high gloss shine provided by a synthetic when working on light colors. Again, perception and preference is everything here.

thanks for your help! ive ordered some m21 and m26 to replace my nxt 2.0

                    plan to...

                    1. clay car (last clay was approx 3 months ago)
                    2. Swirl X with g220 and 8006
                    3. #7 with g220 and 8006
                    4. m21 x 2 coats
                    5. m26 x 2 coats

anything else that i am missing?

sounds like a lotta trouble to go through for a white car, but... what can i say.. its an obsession! :p
