  • Last Touch streaking issue

    Hey Guys,

When i went to do a daily wiped down on my truck with LT it streaked a bit. I have not diluted it a all and use it right out of the gallon, would it be okay if i fill the bottle up with 60 percent LT and 40 percent cold water, i just wanted to make sure if it affected its performance if diluted for wipedowns

    Thanks Guys

Shouldn't be streaking straight out of the bottle. Might want to check for other problems first?

    Microfibers in good shape?
Temperature not too low or humidity too high? (It is winter time).
Using good technique? Microfiber folded 4-ways to give you cushion to spread out the pressure of your hand while wiping.

Supreme Shine Microfibers that are 2 weeks old, 60 degrees in my garage, and as always i fol the microfiber 4 ways. When i said streaking i mean it wipes on and off easily but leaves tiny streak marks if looked upon from a certain angle and it is a bit cold so that comes into play as well. If i give it another pass it usually comes off ut just wasnt sure if i should be diluting it or not

Just so you know i wasnt blaming the product as other factors come into play

Thanks for the quik response too

Just to let you know, I use LT diluted 1:1 and it works great.

I tried it again and used less product and wiped slowly and had no streaks, looks like it was my fault so im sorry about that

The dilution recommendation for Last Touch is for when you want to use it as a clay lube, not as a mist & wipe quick detailer. Some people do dilute it to use as a quick detailer but it's not an official recommendation for this product.

Streaks are really excess accumulated product on the surface creating a visual imperfection in the paint. The solution is to remove the excess product. Maybe try this?

              Final Wiping Techniques

Most paint care products will work better in warmer weather...

Mike. When I bought Last Touch, most people said I should dilute it 1:1 for use as a QD. Obviously, you didn't say that. But this dilution seems to work well for me so far. What would be the added benefit of not diluting the product?

Most people do go 1:1, but really, there's no black and white answers. On soft paint that has accumulated a days worth of dust, you really want to use full strength Last Touch. On the same soft paint just after a wash, you may go 1:1 or play it safe with full strength. On hard paint, 1:1 is fine IME but full strength still gives added security.

I do about 60 or 70 LT to the rest distilled water. Otherwise, I find the fragrance of the LT near toxic. Yes, that is not true, but it does affect my breathing sometimes, so I dilute it some, and I think it works just as good.

I really like the product though.

The key to avoid streaking with Last Touch is to make sure you don't over use the product, OR, if you are intentionally using a lot (ie as a lubricant to avoid swirls when QDing) make sure to use a "wet" side of the towel first, and then flip to a dry side for the final wipe.

I use LT regularly without streaking this way.

                          Re: Last Touch streaking issue

About a year ago I to had a streaking issue with the lt. Mine was a quick fix. Went back to supreme shine microfibers and vigorously shaked the product up before and during use.

I'm one of those who intentionally use a lot of LT. I will only get streaks when I get in to much of a hurry and try to do a really large area all at once.
