  • Least Abrasive Paint Prep Product

I need some advise on the least aggressive Meguiar's polish for the paint cleaning step for use with the G110 and yellow pad. My paint finish is in excellent condition but I want a product that I can use about twice a year (or more often) to give the paint a good preparation for waxing. For starters I'm looking at:

    1. M03, Machine Glaze
    2. M80, Speed Glaze
    3. M205, Ultra Finishing Polish

Being new at this, I want a product that's going to be safe but effective and, importantly, not degrade my clear coat if I use the product twice a year- or more often. (Does such a product exist?) The above list is just my guess and I welcome any other suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Moved out of Hot Topics and into Detailing 101

Hot Topics and any forum in the Information Station is not open to starting new threads. When in doubt, post it to Detailing 101 which is a great catch-all forum.

    Thanks!

If the car you're working on has a clear coat, and you want a mild cleaner/polish to perfectly prepare the paint for wax then take a look at one of these,

      M09 Swirl Remover 2.0
      M205 Ultra Finishing Polish

Both can be applied with either a polishing pad or for even lighter polishing use a finishing pad.
