my town stopped plowing snow unless we get 3" or more. instead of plowing though they drop sand, sand and more sand. not only are the side roads nearly impassable but like an old muddy road. all the main roads are black and brown from all the sand put down. the last few days have been good....18 degrees and sunny but no point in washing the car because two miles on the road and it will be completely covered in sand again!!

The only part of my truck that is still black is the hood! Since that is the only part I can see while I am driving... I can still remain blissfully happy, until I get out again.

I can't tell you how grateful I am to be out of the midwest this winter. I hate the salt and snow. Now that the price of salt is 300% higher than last year, the counties are switching to sand. Sand gets on your paint and then it snows and when the snow slides off the paint it rubs the sand against the paint. Real nice. You aught to send the county the bill for a detail. The counties also are not thinking about the tons of sand that will be washed down and clogging up the sewers this spring. Watch for the flooding in your neighborhood.

I've been in Cape Coral, FL for several weeks now and I washed my car once when I arrived. I give it a QD every couple days and it stays immaculate. It was on the cool side today however, only got up to 64°. I almost thought about wearing long pants instead of shorts. LOL.

Keep the faith guys, spring is on the way. Only two to three more months of this to endure. There is a lot to like about sitting by a warm fire, watching it snow and drinking an adult refreshment too.

It has been awful here in Ohio too, it is such a treat to get an occasional 50 degree day here and there in the winter, last one we had was about a month ago though

I just recently bought a 2001 Sonoma (in black of course) as a third vehicle. It has swirls, rids from the previous owner's car washing attempts. It is frustrating for me because I want to do a full correction. But weather being below freezing and no garage has hampered any attempts. I cannot wait for the odd 50 degree day to do it. Someday, I will relocate out west for in FL. Until then, I will have to grin and bear it.

I was pretty hopeful that the weather guys were going to be correct this week. Forecasting 35 all week. I dont think it got to 25 yet. I did break down and wash the car for the first time in about 3 weeks. It was very painful. It was pretty clean for not being washed in so long, but the wheel wells and underneath were just full of ****. I think I took of 10 pounds of just snow underneath the undercarriage. When you dont wash it very often and have sand flying everywhere, You notice more rock chips everytime you wash it. I well hopefully be able to find a garage this weekend and flash a coat of wax on it. BRING ME SUMMMMER

I feel your pain. I almost assualted a sander driver a few years ago. We live on a cul de sac, and they kept the setting on the same output as wider, straight roads. Almost had a GD beach on our street. Now we use magnesium chloride (the teal green stuff). Still a PITA, but better.

It's cold here in Tennessee also,one of the worst cold winters we have had in the 5 years I've been mobile detailing.I've had one call since thanksgiving.Maybe if we can get thru January,things will start looking up.We all need to give thanks to MOL for the ability to get better knowledge and ideals for making us smarter and better at what we do.I have been a member here for about 4 years and always come out of winter with more confidence. So thanks to all of you and MOL.
