  • G110 and wet sanding ???

I recently (about 6 months ago) painted my car outside. So I have some dirt particles and a few bugs stuck in the paint. My question is could I wet sand with 1500 and finish with 3000 grit paper? Then use a G110 with M105 and cutting pad followed by M205 with a polishing pad? If so what speed should I use 5 ? Is it even possible to remove sanding marks using G110 and M105 ? Or do I really need to invest in a rotary polisher ?

    Thanks

I do not know what the "official" stand on this is for 100% sure, but I am pretty sure that the M105 rating to remove the 1,200 grit sandpaper stands true for DA application. I'm sure Mike Phillips can chime in with the official word on that.

That said, speed 5 for all the correction work, and use a polishing pad for both M105 and M205. If by some off chance you get minor ticks or haze from the M205 with the polishing pad, step down to the finishing pad, and/or less pressure on the machine.

The new M105 and M205 via G110 = AMAZING. Just used them both myself...very impressed. (I did half my car with a rotary and half with the G110 and in the same time got the same results).

Is it for DA application? I thought is was for rotary application, I know that the new M105 is formulated to be used with a DA but I thought that to remove 1500 grit they were referring when used with a rotary.

Generally speaking DA's are not the go to machine to remove sanding marks, sure sometimes depending on the paint you can remove it but if think if you are going to wet sand please do a "test spot" in an area where is not noticeable and give it a try

You could have more luck doing the job by hand or with a rotary since you are just doing the wet sanding on some parts

I am pretty sure one of the Meguiars Guys said that the DA does not remove the sanding marks. It is a big mistake that people make. Because if you look up close you can still see the marks. I am not sure which one talks about using a DA to fix wetsanding but it is after number one and possibly after number two.
