There are also something like after using eraser...(dust?)

Am I applying too much product?
I have worked for about 2-3mins..(1/3 of the hood)
how much product should I use..?
    How long should I work?

    Thanks!

Re: m80 hard to wipe off?

I only had a few occasions of M80 being hard to wipe off. We have hot dry weather up here in No. California and I attributed it to the heat.

I only work about a 12X12 area or little bigger (usually kiss the paint with pad in 4 areas about a pad width apart from each other and one smack in the middle) then work product in and wipe. At times I hit it with QD to aid in wipe off if needed.

You may be using too much product in too big of an area.

    Give that a shot.

I'm sure others will chime in.

M80 is usually very easy to work with (once you work the kinks out that is )

Sounds like you went to a dry buff.

      • Try doing larger areas like the hood in smaller sections, maybe about 24"x24" at most, smaller if it is warmer out like Aaron suggested.
      • If that still doesn't fix it, you may need a little more product on the pad.
      • If you have enough product on the pad, you may be working M80 too long on the paint.

Re: m80 hard to wipe off?

I agree with the others - M80 is very easy to work with, when I first started using #80 it took a few tried to get it right. Once you find the right amount of product to apply/amount of working time and size of working area you will find #80 is very easy to work with and will remove with ease.

        Are you working by hand?

Too much M80 can make it difficult to remove. Try significantly less product and a smaller working area/time.

            Like Dissolves Like
Also, if you ever get to where you have some stubborn M80 residue that's hard to wipe-off, you can always simply apply a little fresh M80 by hand and the fresh/liquid M80 will re-liquefy and loosen the stubborn M80 residue and then you can wipe everything off using a clean, dry microfiber cloth.

Something that I did not see mentioned is letting it dry before removal. I made this mistake the first time I used 80. All polishes and cleaner polishes should be removed while it is still wet. When I let it dry it was very difficult to remove.

                  okay
                  thanks guys
I will try to use little product...
Here is 65 degree..no too hot..
apply a little fresh M80 by hand(and then just wipe it off?)

If I do no wipe off all the M80(then apply wax), would it cause any problem?

to your first question, apply the M80 to the vechile and after you are done applying it go grab a microfiber towel and wipe it off.

Now you probably want to remove all of the M80 so you have an easier time putting your wax on the car as you would not want to apply your wax over M80 residue. Also you want your wax of choice to bond to the cars paint and when i say remove all of the M80 i mean if there is a tiny little spot you missed then its not the end of the world. Just make sure you remove the product off the panel so you can wax and then deal with tiny missed spots in crevice/cracks accordingly.

what if I did not wipe off all the M80 and applied wax..
(I mean I did try to wipe it off..but some of the M80 is just hard to wipe off..)
                      What should I do now?

if you applied M80 to a panel on your car and didnt wipe it off and just started waxing over that M80 covered panel with wax then.....

                        1. the M80 would be hard to remove
                        2. The wax would not bond directly to your car's paint very well

If the following above is true then i would just start over with M80 applying to one panel at a time and wiping off immediatly

After that i would then put a coat of wax on the entire car then go back to the first panel you started waxing at and begin to wipe off the wax

If nothing i said so far is what your doing then please be a litttle more specific

                        hope this helps

so I can just apply M80 and work for around 1min(I do not really have to work through the paint..right?), then wipe it off...

When using M80 by hand i usually work the product into the finish with a small amount of passion for just cleaning ability, if you are trying to remove swirls then you would want to use a better method such as the G110 with certain pads. But when it comes to removing the product you are supposed to remove it immediatly after you are done working it in

hope this helps, perphaps others could chime as well.

Just to clear up any confusion... at this point, do you mean can you simply apply a little M80 to loosen and remove the M80 you previously applied but had a hard time removing for whatever the reason?

Is so, then "yes" just apply a little, spread it around gently to loosen any previously applied M80 and then wipe everything left on the paint off all at once and move on the the next panel.

As stated by others, M80 is actually a very easy product to use, as in work with and wipe off as long as you're not overusing the product, buffing to a dry buff, or letting the product dry like a wax before wiping off.

You don't have to get every trace of M80 off before going to wax, just do your best and then move on to the waxing step.

There's a lot of great reading in the Hot Topics forum, here's a thread that goes over which products need to dry and which product's you just wipe off after yo use them.
