I have a previously owned '06 LS430, dark gray with a Simoniz System5 coating. I used M's Cleaner Wax and now there is a roughness to the touch. If I polish the car and re-wax, am I likely to remove the rough feel and will I be trashing the Simoniz coating? Is there a better choice?
    Thank you.

Yes, polishing will help remove the rough feeling. One thing you will want to do is clay the car down to remove any bonded contaminants.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

The Simonize coating is like any coating or wax or paint sealant and it's going to wear off anyways unless you leave your car in a garage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Take ownership of your car's maintenance, that means take it upon yourself to wash and wax the car regularly instead of thinking some coating is going to be an invisible force field that never wears off.

Find a quality car wax and a quality car wash and wash and wax your car yourself or find a quality detailer you trust and pay them to maintain your car for you.

Funny you say this, and that you owned a LS. I worked at Lexus for over a year and I know how much the advisors push this product for new cars. It actually is a decent product, but it is NOT better than any Meguiar's wax or sealant. Especially not for the price they charge you.

I wouldn't worry about getting it off. Probably gone anyway. Just wash it, clay it, polish as needed and wax it. Go from where you are now and maintain it forever.
