  • Dewalt 443 and Meguiars pads

    Hi

I have just bought a Dewalt 443 unit, and was wondering if anyone has used these units with Meguairs polishing pads ?

I have a 1986 Porsche 944 that needs some good TLC,and as Meguiars seems to be the best product in the UK at present, what polishers, compounds should I be looking to buy ?

    Thanks for any advice

    Hi engineer59,

First, I would say that Meguiar's products are great products no matter what country you are in!

Anyhow, the Dewalt 443 ROP (Random Orbital Polisher) will work well with the Meguiar's pads. My buddy has one, and it performs about the same as the PC (Porter Cable).

As for products, about the most aggressive you can use with the PC would be Meguiar's DACP. Slighly less aggressive products like Speed Glaze, Swirl Free Polish, #9 can also be used with ROP's.

NOTE: However, if your Porshe is single stage paint, and not clear-coat, you want to be a bit careful on how aggressive you start out........ at least in my opinion.

    Hope this helps.

I also have a Dewalt 443 and Meg's pads. They work wonders. I've used a cutting pad and #83 on some pretty messed up paint. Let's just say it's amazing what some detailing work can do to an older Volvo 850 Turbo.
      Good luck and have fun.

I've been using Dewalt DW443 with W-8006 pad for a few months. Great result I get especially when working with #83 DACP. I could remove all the swirls except some serious water spots on the hood. The maximum speed I've used with it is '3'.
