  • Do need to remove wax to apply #7

Hey I have a quick question. If my car currently has a good coat of NXt and would like to apply #7. Do I need to remove the nxt first before I put on the #7? If so how would you recommend going about it?

    Hi Joe,

Best results usually come from applying the polish before the wax.

Do you have a porter cable dual action polisher and a paint cleaner or cleaner/polish? Or a hand applied paint cleaner like ScratchX or a cleaner/polish like #9 or Speed Glaze?

If so, you could apply a cleaner/polish, or a paint cleaner, and then apply the #7 Show Car Glaze and follow with wax.

      Thanks Mike,
You answered my questions. I am going to give it a try and see if I can make it look even better.

Can I use the dual action orbital buffer to apply #7? if so - which pad and at what speed?

        thanks.

          Hey,

Yes, you can use a PC to apply the #7. I would suggest using a W-9006 Finishing Pad with the PC set to speed 3. Remember, there is no need to work it in; just apply it with over-lapping strokes and remove.
