Can you guys share your QD tips and techniques please? I'm new and just want to make sure I do it correctly. Do you just spray down each panel and wipe with a microfiber cloth and then buff-dry with the opposite side?

Re: Quick Detailing Tips/Techniques
Well, there are different situations....
For instance, to remove bird droppings, etc, you would want more of a spray and dab technique.
For dusting, you could spray some on the panel, some on your cloth, and gently wipe. The drying if needed, but it really shouldnt be.
Ater a wash, you wont need quite as much as dusting, just a spray or two on the panel, a little on the cloth, and that will pretty much be enough.
Of course when claying, you do want to use a lot of QD, and then dry off excess as you go.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Quick Detailing Tips/Techniques
Well for me I personally do it differently depending on how dirty the paint is, and which QD product I am using.
If I have only 1 day of dust on the car I will just grab the bottle of UQD and a nice microfiber. Then I lightly mist large areas like the hood, maybe 3x3 feet at a time and gently wipe it down. The final pass I switch the side of the towel and use the dry side for my last pass.
If I have 2-3 days of dust, or maybe some bird droppings I will reach for 100% Last Touch first. I like this for cleaning as it has a lot of lubrication and oils to protect your paint. Use the same technique as before, but spray the product more liberally and allow it to soak a little bit longer.
I then follow up with a final pass of UQD, just spraying it on the towel itself. (If I am working on skinny trim areas or near windows I always spray the towel only).
These are just my own personal methods, so test things out and see what works for you.

Re: Quick Detailing Tips/Techniques
I like to mist the product lightly on the section , then using a supreme shine microfiber, "work" the product. Then using a second clean SS microfiber I gently remove any excess and the section is good to go. If I have bird droppings I spot treat them first with 2 other clean microfibers. I do not like to use the microfiber with bird droppings on the rest of my paint.
The other thing I tend to do is generally qd the cars hopefully every 2 days. Never let them go more then 3 days. Helps out in the long run.quality creates its own demand

Re: Quick Detailing Tips/Techniques
How many towels/cloths do you guys end up using? I have a Honda Civic and I just did a QD after it rained and because there was so much dirt coming off on the towels from the minerals I went through about 5 microfiber towels and even that didn't seem like enough. I still felt like I was re-using some dirty areas that could hurt the paint. Is this normal?-HealthyCivic

Be careful wiping your car down after a fresh rain when it hasn't rained for a while. You might even consider washing your car instead.
Mist and wipe products like Quik Detailer rand Ultimate Quik Detailer, are for removing
- Light dust
- Fingerprints
- Smudges
Not accumulated dirt, that's the job for a car wash.

If you want to be really insane, you can just wash your car in the rain if it is a medium/hard rain... At least it ends up looking reasonable without having to dry it.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
