I haven't used Meguiar's aggressive clay, so I can't make a comparison to that. The reason I use the regular clay to begin with is to keep the bigger containments off the sponge, lowering the chances of scratching. I found out as well that it does NOT like heat the hard way as it started streaking on the surface when I used it in the sun even after keeping it rinsed off and running water.
