  • Hiding swirls rather than removing

Now before I get thumped on the head for making a statement that makes me sound very lazy... I am talking about my flatbed dually work truck which makes alot of miles through through the city every day. It is also basically a shiny advertisement on wheels for my company and I try to keep it looking as good as I can which can be time consuming and expensive. This truck is black and shows alot of swirls/scratches, and even though I am moderately experienced (thanks to megsonline) If I wanted to keep this truck "swirlless" I would have to take the rotary to it every second weekend (although that might sound like fun.. Its hard to find the time to do it when your trying to run a business) I am wondering what product would work best for this truck to visually tone down some of the swirls a bit.

I also concur. #7 + NXTv2 would look very good on that.

D151 will be your ticket. You could use either the rotary or the PC.
If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

#7 and NXT will hide light swirls. but not for long. The hard way is the best way. You will be more satisified in the long run

Re: Hiding swirls rather than removing

Maybe I'm wrong here but #7 is/was made for single stage paint and brings out a wetter shine and anything that brings out a paint better will also show up more of the defects of the paint.

I also thought to only use #7 on new paint or paint that has been cleaned-polished and waxed in excellent shape, and to keep the shine of the finish.

I have a black mustang and ranger both single stage paint and to help hide the swirls a little better I use some #66 because it acts like a band-aid if you will because of it's ability to hide swirls and light scratches with it's swirl filling propeties but the swirls will come back after a couple washes so just apply another coat or better yet after applying the #66 layer it with the nxt 2.0 tech wax for a longer lasting less swirl appearance.

Just my 2 cents hope I helped.

I believe the #09 Swirl Remover would be a good first step, followed by a couple coats of NXT. Of course, throwing some #7 in the mix might help a bit too...but it also might just be a waste of time.

comes in normal/medium and can be applied by hand/pc, this does a good job then nxt gen over the top or your wax of choice
