Cordless or Corded PC?

Just wanted to know the different opinions on the cordless vs the regular PC. I am going to be buying my first soon and have been debating the pros and cons of each. If the cordless is just as powerful and does quality work, I'm thinking it might be nice to have one that can go anywhere with me. Would like your thoughts on it.

i think the cordless would be very handy if you are on auto events/shows for doing a quick buff out or waxjob... but i don't think if you are about to polish or something like that that it can't be beaten by a cord PC. the pressure i think would be the bottleneck .. the cordless will variate in speed then ...

Yeah, I forgot to search before I asked. It looks like the cordless is a nice extra to have to take on trips etc... I definitely want to be able to attack swirls and micromarring since I have black paint. Looks the real McCoy is the way to go.

I haven't seen a cordless PC in the sense of a 'dual-action' polisher. Meguiar's does, however, offer a cordless orbital buffer (the G-104).

Cordless is nice but, you're going to loose the polishing power that a corded machine will provide. In short, the cordless buffers are nice to smack a quick coat of NXT or #26 on the vehicle but would probably fall short in offering enough 'oompah' to get you through a full scale detail with #83.

I used very poor terminology. I have a bad habit of calling any orbital buffer or random orbit polisher a PC - kinda like calling all soft drinks a coke. Sorry for the confusion.

I have made up my mind to buy a PC and wait on the cordless orbital polisher until later on.

I think that's probably the better bet between the two. The G-100 (AKA: PC) is a very versatile tool that can be used with a variety of products to achieve high gloss and cut detail time down dramatically.

Don't get me wrong though. The cordless orbital, I'm sure, is a HUGE time saver for a quick coat of NXT or #26 (or similar) but, the PC would be my first choice. I will admit though, the Cordless Kit is on my wish list; and, in fact, near the top.

As a suggestion, once you have the PC in hand, you should try out the Meguiar's Ultimate Bonnet (AKA: M-99) to remove the polishes and waxes that you'll apply. It's a TREMENDOUS product!!

Good choice, the power offered by the plug-in model is what you need to do some serious paint polishing.

The rechargeable unit is really only good for applying a polish or coat of wax to a finish that is in new or like new condition. It just doesn't have the power to remove any defects.

The cordless/rechargeable unit is GREAT for light polish/wax, particularly for the ladies...it's lighter, easier to grab, and the price is reasonable, too.
