  • Detailing help - ASAP!

    Hello all,

I had a crappy experience today. I'm currently on a business trip, and while driving to my destination, I encountered a helicopter flying low spraying something onto the crops in a farm field. Anyway's, in order for him to get the whole field, he had to circle over the road where I happened to be driving down, as well as a bunch of other people. Well, a few seconds after he went over me, my windshield was covered in what appeared to be rain drops. However, it wasn't rain since it instantly dried. So, I pulled into a gas station and took the squeege thing to the windshield. It got it off without any effort. I looked over the car, and I didn't really see any spots (like there were on the windshield), so I just let the car be. However, now that I think about it, I probably should have found a place to get the car washed. I'm guessing that this was some kind of a chemical pesiticide or something. If so, is this going to cause major damage to my paint? Again, I didn't really see anything on the paint, and I looked at it pretty closely. If anyone could give me their thoughts, that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

P.s. I'm not at home, so what's my best way of dealing with this?

At least go to a coin place and pressure wash it....

Their soaps will likely strip your wax, but hopefully the water would help.

Will the pesticides hurt my paint? Can I wait till tomorrow to find a place to wash it, or does this need to be done ASAP?

I would try to get the car washed as soon as possible.

I would agree with most and find a place to have it washed as soon as you can.
              GOOD LUCK.

I had the same exact thing happen to me in MAY when I was going to a Armorers Course for the company I work for. The spraying happened in the middle of the week and I washed it in the touchless place on the weekend. It left no visible damage to the paint on my wifes Ford Expedition. This could just be her vehicle so I would find the closest touchless or coin op and give it a good once over to remove the residue.

Take care of as soon as feasible.

Hope it wasn't some kind of fertilizer...

Definately would wash as a precaution.
