'DAD, why do you spend so much time working on your truck?" i aswered him truthfully," Son, when you have as much money invested in a vehicle as i do you will better understand why i keep this vehicle clean and shiny." the only one of the family that does not think i am crazy is my four year old. he is with me every time i do anything to the truck. he just loves playing in the water. he washes his door and works on the wheels. then one day he said something that made it all worth it to me. as he was washing his door he stops and says to me, "i love this truck almost as much as you , daddy."

This story just made my day! Thanks for sharing it. I don't have any kids, But my sisters kids drive me nuts most of the time. They just say and do things at certain times that make them so unique and special.

I used to be quite obsessed with my car, at anywhere, anytime of the day. I find it quite distracting as I couldn't concentrate on other things, which are more important in my life (family, gf, work, etc...). I could even get so much of worries by just going anywhere with my car, until driving is a burden to me.

However, things changed alot recently. I realised that I was too obsessed with my car, and I started to change myself quite abit. I know car is the most expensive asset I've ever owned at this moment, but that doesn't mean I have to spend all my time and effort on it. Yes, I like clean, swirl free, dent free, scratch free car, but too bad I'm not living in an ideal world. However, from that moment I started to realise, I would just use my car like normal, BUT, I would still perform weekly wash, monthly waxing, quarter year polishing, etc...The detailing knowledge and passion are forever with me, and I could use it anytime when I encounter any detailing problems. That makes me different from average car owner who only bother to wash their car once a month, wax a year, and polish once every four years.

I also feel that I'll never get to learn if my car has no swirls, etchings, blemishes, scratches, etc...So, I'll choose to let everything happens naturally, and solved accordingly. That's why I'm always here in MOL to get more information. Always remember that parents, sibilings, wife/husband, girl friend/boy friend are still more important than our car. Once you neglect them, it's very hard to heal their soul; If you lost a car, you could still earn it back using money. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for reading.

yep, Neighbors think Im crazy too. (maybee their right ). When Im home on the weekends, I am either cleaning my car, or modifying it in some way. I spent every weekend for the last month outside knocking dents out of the car and sanding it down!

I guess in the end its all worth it, as now I have a car that looks and handles better, and goes faster than most cars costing 3-4x as much.
