Hello guys, I just want to start a thread on how to preparing a car on winter, I know its too early, but I just want to save money starting now to invest this products I have to buy. So guys, what can you recommend for Interior/exterior products in order to have a maximum protection on this coming winter... thanks in advance!

    Re: Winter Prep

Well, you are fine with the same interior dressings, etc. Having a carpet cleaner around is handy, like Quick out or APC.

As far as the exterior, Nxt 2.0 seems to be considered Meguiars best protecing wax.

Just try to wax it as close as possible to the winter, and if you are lucky, you can do a quick cleaner/wax + Nxt detail mid winter.

Other than that, try to wash and UQD as possible. 2 Buckets and Grit Guards of course.

      Re: Winter Prep

Well Glen, having grown up in Toronto, I think the best prep for your car is to move south, far south! Just kidding.

It really shouldn't be any different than your regular routine (assuming you're following the 5 step approach).

Just try to get 2 coats of NXT 2.0 on your car as late in the season as possible (Early December if possible).

          Re: Winter Prep

From what I've read, it might be more durable (ie: longer lasting), not necessarily "better".

I have to echo 3Fitty's remarks. Just wax as close as you can to the end of the season for protection and start anew in the spring. (with UQD in between during mild weather)

              Re: Winter Prep

just asking about this NUfinish - and it was called "The Once-A-Year Car Polish." and i went to the store and read the label, and stated that that polish will stay on your paint till 52 car washes. Im not saying that im gonna buy this, all i want to know if meguairs has an equivalent product that can match this product. Im just curious cause, winter here in canada is like 5 months. and im looking for long lasting waxes...

Just because it say something on the label doesn't necessarily mean it's true. A lot of auto dealers sell a "lifetime" sealant as an add on product for new cars where you never have to wax it again....with some restrictions of course.

On my car, my personal preference is #26 every month or two....but I'm not in the Great White North
