Storing Detailing Materials

Many times people raise the question, "How do I wash my mitts/microfibers/etc"? I feel it's just as important on how we store our materials as well as how we wash them.

So my question, what are some good ways to store mitts, microfiber towels, terry towels, etc. Basically anything that we use product on/comes in contact with water.

after washing my MF, i dry them in room temperature and after dry i put inside plastic clip.

Machine wash. Air dry. Back in ziplocks.

I keep pads in a cabinet, not in any bags, m/f towels in one Meguiar's bag from ads.com and washing stuff (3-4 sponges/mitts dry towels, etc. in another Meg's bag.

i keep them in a heavy duty cardboard moving box, and I just make sure that I shake the MF's good before I use them on the card, incase some dust might have settled on them

After cleaning my pads, mitts etc. I put them in a ziploc bag. Then return them to the 3 drawer storage chest.

I wash them in a front loading washer on HOT, dryer them on a lower temp till they are damp then air dry them. After that I roll them up and put them in a big plastic bin that I keep all my MF's and such in.

MF towels are washed in washer, air dried in the garage on clothes line, then plasced in plastic draws. I have them seperated by duty, drying, polish/wax removal, QD, wheels, interior....

if you have yours seperated into duty, question for you. Are all the towels you use the same?? Quality wise?? if so where do you buy them at...also, anyone else reading this, a little direction on where to buy good microfibers at a decent cost would be great..

I bought some at Sam's Club for $10.95 for 25 or something like that. They had yellow, green & I think blue. I have been using them with no problem.

I currently use white buckets with lids for my towels (handy to take outside or whatever). I plan on buying some of those white drawers like I see a ton use, I have limited space.

I wash my towels in hot water, tumble dry delicate - no softner, no dryer sheet. I usually throw my yellow applicator and microfiber applicators in the wash with them.

Terry cloths, wash hot water - tumble dry hot - no softner, no dryer sheet.

The buckets: I currently use a different container for my applicators.



Buckets store nicely under a shelf, I also use the buckets for my red auto rags too



I use the clear and blue container for my applicators now.



My pad inventory has grown and I use ziplock bags and store them in a crate, Crate O' Pads
