  • cleaning before #26 Hi-Tech Wax

My car has been clayed, #83, #80, and two coats of #21 2.0. It sat out all day yesterday and is now disty. I want to put a coat of #36 Hi-Tech Wax on. Should I clean it with UQD or Last Touch? I have both on hand. I have been using UQD (which I love) but wasn't sure if it would be okay to use before a waxing.

    Thanks

If you have light dust than you can QD using Last Touch.
Remember to use a couple of microfiber and be very gentle, you don't want to ruin your job putting scratches in the paint.

I would also use the Last Touch. Then apply #26. After the wax cures I would then use the uqd when possible.

Thanks for the replies. I was concerned about using UQD because of its high "lubricity" and "hydrophobic" characteristics I didn't think it would be good to use before #26.

Its one of those things that while the lubricity and hydrophobic layer is there, it is microscopic.

Pushing a product across it with a pad is going to break up that surface quite easily.

So it shouldnt really matter, but from a cost persepctive, you are wasting the UQD if you do that.
