  • Longtime User But Need Updated Info

    Hello,

This is my first post and I was so happy to find this forum. I have been a Meguiar's user for many years. I think I bought my first product sometime in the early 80's. Been so long I can't remember for sure.

I bought the big package about 10 years ago and it came with the a PC 7335 which is the best money I have ever spent.

I am still using all the products that were "The Latest" then but I want to update to the modern age and use the latest and greatest Meguiars products offered today.

The vehicles I will be using the products on is a 2001 Grand Cherokee (Medium Blue) and a 2003 Dodge Ram (Dk. Gray Metallic).

    I want to continue to use my PC so any product someone may suggest should have that in mind. I have decided to order the following;

    G-12664 NXT Generation Car Wash
    G-12718 NXT Generation Tech Wax

I am missing a prep/cleaning product and a polish. I use the Detailer already so I have the maintenance covered. What prep/cleaning product and polish should I use with the NXT products listed above?

Do I need to use a swirl reducer with any of the NXT products?

    Thanks,
    Bob

You will find lots of good info on here and lots of people willing to help.... Sounds like you are off to a good start you have a PC (7335) and you want some NXT Wax. NXT looks great on dark colors!

For Cleaners something like the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner would work well.... and for polish the Deep Crystal Polish works well. Both products are easy to find, work well and inexpensive.

If you want to step up a little something like #81 Hand Polish will leave a nice deep looking finish before you wax. Another option I have had good luck with is #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 It cleans and polishes as well as reduce swirls and so on in one step.

In a full detail this is what I do on my black truck, apply all with a PC:

    1. Wash with Meguiars Gold Class Wash
    2. Clay with meguiars clay and detailer
    3. Wash with Meguiars Gold Class Wash
    4. Clean with deep crystal paint cleaner or #9 swirl remover 2.0
    5. Polish with #81 hand polish
    6. 2 coats of NXT Wax

The options are endless I am sure others will have plenty of ideas!
