I've owned several hondas and have never seen this as yet.I have seen something similair here on a couple of cars probably due to a complete lack of attention and extreme heat from the sun.
In the link on page one Mike had mentioned the pilot being driven in desert conditions and possibly heat related aswell.With all the input here,no one has mentioned the conditions that these cars have been exposed to.Some of the cars mentioned are fairly new and would think they shouldn't be suffering already.

It appears that the paint is "checking"-- just like the good old days when acrylic lacquer was used for repainting. I'll just bet that Honda will do a repaint. It will have to be stripped down to bare metal, primered and then painted.

GF's 2005 Acura RSX has these really bad on the entire front 1/3rd of the car. I hate working on her car...such terrible paint.

Has anyone been able to get it where they are not noticable anymore? They really came out after the last time I detailed the cars, clay, polish and waxing and I figured it was just residue that had gotten in tiny scratches on the hood but have not had any luck with them.

My Acura TL has the exact same problem on the hood

I'm just counting on having it repainted eventually.

i did a 2007 Si and it had that all over the hood too...swirlX did nothing on them and he didnt want me to try 105 on them.

The front of my sister's '94 Accord has those marks. They probably are the first signs of clearcoat failure. She has some spots where the clear is definitely going to fade eventually, unfortunately, she doesn't care. She has said so herself.

Looks identical to the hood of my 2004 Honda Pilot. Unfortunately, the cleaner you get the hood, the more noticeable they are. I was told it's a form of clearcoat failure. If you can clean them with 105, I'd be very interested to hear about it!

Yes exactly, this is the same for our two cars as well and the more I read the more I think I am just stuck with the way it is and a repaint is the only way to get rid of it.

Looks identical to the hood of my 2004 Honda Pilot. Unfortunately, the cleaner you get the hood, the more noticeable they are. I was told it's a form of clearcoat failure. If you can clean them with 105, I'd be very interested to hear about it!

Yeah most of my wifes and mine are on the front part of the hood and go back from there. I was just hoping there was a way to conceal them as right now with our darker colored paint they are very noticable.

They're weird looking, at first I thought I did something wrong. They're more predominate on the lower half of the hood where the majority of the paint chips are.

My wifes Focus has these too. When I was working on it yesterday I noticed these type of scratched, they look like very small "nicks", couldn't get them out with the DA & 105.

I detailed a 1998 Ford Explorer "Eddie Bauer" edition with the same problem. I assumed it was a paint defect.

My Civic has that on the nose of the hood. I was told it was called crows feet and was often the first stage of clear coat failure.

Oh well hate to hear this, was hoping to some way cover them up as after waxing the last time they are all white looking and very noticable on both of our cars.
