    I vote NO!

I think the reason this isn't a good idea has already been pointed out in your other thread.

If you so strongly disagree, go and develop one and see where it goes.

I would have to agree with Ryan. Under a continuous load. I say no. Give me the corded G 100.

As I said in the other thread, the I rely on the consistency of the DA when working. Too many variables already when it comes to the paint!

Please only post a question/topic to the forum one time.

We're going to take your duplicate post and combine it into this one.

I find it hard to believe that will happen anytime soon. The cordless drill I have lasts only for about 15 minutes continously and takes way longer to charge. I say cord ftw.

If you really can't use it in your apartment, you should try asking some of your friends/family that have houses and garages to allow you to use theirs and you might be able to return the favor by doing one of their cars. It's not like you would need to be going every day to work on your car.

Re: Cordless, LiPo Battery Powered Meguiars DA? poll?

trust me, for personal use, I would love a cordless LiPo DA G-series! I definitely won't use it for 15hrs straight, only for a half a day, the usual time to get a good detail in. plus another battery LiPo pack is always on hand.

its not like I'm a professional detailer going door to door. its for personal use only b/c I do not have access to a power outlet since I'm in a apt complex. I also dont know anyone that would allow me to use their garage so that I can detail there cars as a return favor. This idea is strictly for personal use. Trust me, there are a lot of people who would want a cordless DA LiPo power waxer/detailer. Like me! I want one sooooo bad.

p.s. please read up on LiPo batteries.....its great!

Re: Cordless, LiPo Battery Powered Meguiars DA? poll?

I have to say lipo batteries are not where they need to be for such a DA. Lipo batteries have been used in remote control cars for the last 2 years or so, but they still only last 7 to 8 minutes of racing until they start to fall off, thats going from braking to accelerating. Also these batteries would represent something similar to what would be used in such a device to prevent it from being overwhelmingly heavy, but they would probably only allow at most 15 minutes of on and off work.

                  Read this previous thread:

Hey Mike, I haven't read much of the skinny lately but I have a question now that the new generation of DA's are out. Any ideas about going Litthium on the DA polisher? Sure would like not having to deal with electrical cords hanging around when tryig to use it.Scottwax2

trust me, if a company really wants to put time and effort to make a cordless DA, they can, and only us will support them. remember I live in a apt complex building. Lipo batteries last longer than you think.

It has noting to do with "how long they last" it's how much torque they can provide for how long.

Even doing a "quick" job on a car this week I was using the D/A for at least 6 hours.

I'm sure there are companies working on this, but like others have said, they are not there yet. Once you see electric cars with the same range as a gas vehicle (with the same size / weight) it's getting close.

Lowe's carries this tool, it might be a tool that will meet you needs for the time being... probably only good for applying wax, not removing swirls.

that last post, the pic you posted,....that is why people will have a negative thought on Cordless D/A detailing tools. Thay Ryobi product is horrid. it has no power whatsoEver! that is a very very basic "wax buffer",......being in this forum, we all know we all want something a lot more ingenuitive. that Ryobi posted up above is the wrong product I mentioned in this thread. I wanted something more up to date, and I know what most enthusiast here want.
