Need some advice

I've been reading and reading and reading threads about removing scratches and swirls but I cannot get these things out no matter what I try. Just a little info on the car, its a 2000 green Grand Prix it's also been repainted, it's been very neglected over the past years, very scratched up.
My steps that I've done so far are, 1st M84 with a w7000 pad (tried 83 and 8000 first then 83 and 7000), 2nd was 83 with a 8000, then I switched to the g100 and tried 80. This has been the first day where I've been able to get some good sunlight on it and its all swirled up badly. I've been able to remove a lot of the scratches that were there before, now just trying to get the swirls out. I can see that they are swirls and not like the scratches that I did get out.
What I've tried so far is more 83 with 8000, I tried more 80, then I tried 9 with 8000 with the RB at speeds between 1000 and 1500. I then switched back to the g100 at setting 5 and tried 83 with 8006, 80 with 8006, then 9 with 8006 and 9006. Nothing I do seems to affect them no matter how hard I push down on either the RB or the PC. Can anyone offer me anymore advice? Products that I have on hand are 84, 83, 80, 66, and 9. Pads are 7000-9000 and 7006-9006.

well I have a few questions for you as far as the car is concerned. After you wash your car have you run you hand over the paint? Does it feel like glass or sand paper? If it feel like sand paper you may want to clay your entire car. Im not sure if you have read anything about claying or not, but it would a good thing to check out.

After that maybe what you could try is a paint cleaner like th DC 1. this seems to really help with removing swirls. Then i would try the polish after the claying(if needed) and DC 1. I have had much success with the DC 3 step process maybe you can read up on it and see what you think.

Ok just to add DC1 is a chemical cleaner and is only cabable of removing very very light swirls. You will need to be using abrasive cleaners. What were you using before you switched to the G100? Rotary? If you are working with the G100 i would recommend #83 w/ W8006 pad if 80 is not working for you and dont forget to use a little pressure about 15 to 20 lbs. If you have already tried #84 w/ W7000 via rotary then it might be time to try the wool pad and #85 or maybe the new #105. I have not tried 105 personally yet but i have heard great things. I did a BMW a few weeks ago and posted about it on here but that one took #85 w/ W4000 wool pad via rotary just to remove the swirls.

I forget to put I clayed the entire car before going to 84 with the 7000, that was actually my 1st step. I was thinking that I might need to try out 105 with the wool pad but I don't have that in my arsenal. I guess I'll grab some of that and see what I can do. I kinda gave up for now as I needed my car back so I just waxed it and I'll have to start all over in a week or so. I mean its not horrible and it doesn't look to bad and the paint is nice and smooth. The sun wasn't out again today, go figure, so I'll have to really wait and see how bad it is after the NXT I put on. One question about the 105, will I need to go back over it with 84 and 7000? Or can I jump on it with the 83 and 8000 or maybe even the 80? One more thing I taped off the trim around the windows and doors with blue painters tape and now I have adhesive left over, what might take that off? Derrick I started out with the Rotary and I did 84 7000 then 83 8000 then switched to PC with 80 with the 8000 and tried 9 8006 and 9006. Thanks for the replies.

You should be able to jump back down to #80 after using #105, like i have said before i have never used #105 yet but i have done #85 with a wool pad and gone straight to #80 after with great results. As for the adhesive try and find a lighter tape. I know on the ones i use there is a adhesion level meter on the inside of it or on the plastic wrap. Try to find the lowest adhesion painters tape so you don't have that problem in the future. As for taking off the adhesion left behind, try some APC just dab a rag in some APC diluted about 4 parts water 1 part APC and work it off lightly then dress it with something like GC trim detailer.
