Here is a link to one of Megs Terry cloths. Also when you said you run the claybar over the rim and get black off, that is not a way to tell if it has a clear coat or not if that was what you are referring to. The black on the clay can just be brake dust contaminants

Remember not to use that clay back up on your paint....

Yeah by running the clay on the rim I ment that it was really stubborn brake dust particles. Anyway I went and picked up some colorx today and I plan to put it to use tomorrow morning . So can yall tell me the steps I should take? Do I have to wait in between the steps? This is what I plan on doing.

        1. Wash the truck with deep crystal then dry
        2. Not sure if I should clay again, it has been like 2-3 weeks since I last clayed, and I don't think I got the whole truck clayed good enough
        3. If I do clay I will wash the truck again with deep crystal then dry
        4. Then I should apply the Colorx with a MF waffle weave towel, do I have to wait any time after I apply the colorx?
        5. Then do I have to wash the truck again, I guess I should
        6. Then finally I will apply the nxt 2.0 to the whole truck, minus the glass and trim of course

Hopefully I will have a very shiney and good looking truck by then

        5.

After you use a claybar on your rims and some people do the trim ect.. you dont want to use that same claybar on the cars paint after it has been on those areas. So for me if i do want to clay those areas i do the car first then the rims and trim ect.. hope that helps

                Re: Good wax

Well, claying glass and trim along with the paint isnt much, I mean, it is all the same gunk on all of it.

But when down in the wheels, and exhaust tips, etc, you can start getting bigger pieces of brake dust, or other flakes of metal, and other nastier stuff.

Mechanically yes but paint wise no

I use paint cleaner, polish and wax at least 4 times a year

                    Re: Good wax

Just a little update. I just got finished washing, claying, and cleaning the paint with colorx. I just put all my drying and washing towels in the wash so they will be clean when I was the truck next, then I will put on the wax. Hopefully I can get some pictures up that look good, not just driveway shots if you know what I mean.

I'm loving it! The paint is soooo smooth now, I didn't have an problems with swirling before or anything like that, but still all these tips have made my truck look amazing! Thanks guys, like I said I need to get some pictures of it up, but I'm still thinking about a good place to take pictures of it at. I have a place in mind, but i'm not sure if I will be able to do it.
