im very new to detailing.but i recently bought meguairs products such as meguiars show car glaze and the nxt wax.

my question is, if i should use a rotary machine for the show car glaze or its the same when applied by hand? and can i top it with the nxt? thanks

additional question - can i use the scratch x remover on the whole car? as id like to remove the swirl marks..

but is it better off with a machine? its quite hard for me to see any improvement on my paint after i applied the glaze by hand.

Just to clarify, you're talking about a Rotary Buffer?

This is a rotary buffer, it's a direct drive machine with a lot of power.

        Here's another one...

Probably the wrong product for the job. #7 is a non-abrasive, pure polish, it's for new paint as in painted at a body shop recently, or paint in excellent condition.

Have you ever used a rotary buffer before to buff out an entire car?

If not, you will be better off working by hand.

                  Re: meguiars show car glaze

7 is a pure polish no cleaning or defect removal no need to use a rotay with 7 by hand is much better

if u r trying to remove imprefection then a diff product is needed

Not with the #7 or the NXT

If your car's paint doesn't look good, then it's likely it has defects, don't know cause you haven't told us. Most people that want to buff out their car's paint do it because the paint has swirls, scratches, stains, etchings, oxidation, etc.

If this describes the paint on your car then you'll need to use something with the ability to abrade the paint and that's not #7 or NXT.

You'll want a compound, a paint cleaner or a cleaner/polish. Before you even start however you need to learn about all these products.

                    Here's a good start...

                        thanks for the reply.
i usually do a 3 step. first using a cleaner carnauba, then the show car glaze and lastly the nxt.
i just hate the swirl marks thats all. no water spots or whatsoever in my paint.
                        thanks all. appreciate it.

From what I hear, M03 might be a better choice if using a rotary.
