You can also search in Google and you'll find more than one site explaining this method, see this video that Mike Phillips shows how it's done and some useful tips How to Wash Your Car (ShowCar style!)

Re: detailing????????
While you are claying you can use:
Meguiar's Last Touch Spray Detailer
Meguiar's Quik Detailer
Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection
UQD is not design for claying, it's only designed for maintenance and as a wax enhancement.

Re: detailing????????
Dozer,
You can use almost any quick detailer as lube for claying. I may be wrong but if I remember correctly Ultimate Quick Detailer and 135 synthetic spray detailer should not be used for claying due to the fact that they produce an overly slick finish and would not allow the clay to due what it is supposed to do, it would just slide over the paint.

yes you can, the detailer is just basically acting as a lubricnat so it doens really matter which one you use weather its quick detailer or the UQD but i would say use the regular QD since it is more cost efficeint and you tend to use alot during the claying process.""Some of us will do our jobs well and some will not, but we will be judged by only one thing - the result." - Vince Lombardi

Re: detailing????????
No it wouldn't hurt but with a very well maintained car it's not necessary.
I'm not saying that you don't have to clay if you always wax and maintain your finsih, you at some point would have to clay to assure that you don't have bonded contaminants but not as often as you think.
Oh and remember, clay would remove coats of wax and oils you have put in the paint so if you clay you would have to wax to protect that finish

It seems to me that the best clay lube in the Consumer Line is the regular Quick Detailer.
Do you mean just using the wax? Or doing the DC1 Cleaner, DC2 Polish, and DC# wax?2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
