  • Flat or Matte finish question.

I have a customer that has a matte (black) finish on his hot rod. He asked me what he could use to help keep it clean. Says when he washes the car he can't even shammy it cause it leaves streaks. Any suggestion on proper care for this type of finnish?

    Thanks.

Try to find out what kind of paint it is . If it is just something like a DP-90 epoxy primer , he might be out of luck . If it is a top coat with a flattening agent in it , he should be able to protect it with a coat of wax , or at least a quick detailer . Some of the paints that the guys use for the semi gloss look , are very soft , and that might be why he is having problems .

Tell him to try out some WW towels. Maybe even use some QD on it after drying to remove the streaks.
