  • Wash mitt preferences

Since I dont have the two bucket system just yet ( I need to get on that) I rely on using several wash mitts per wash to keep from instilling swirls back into the paint. I have been buying some off brand ones and they never hold up, what wash mitts do you guys recommend that will have some longetivity to them so I dont have to keep buying new ones constantly as well as ones that are better with not holding dirt?

Why dun't u just get another empty bucket and put warm water in it? I'd make a HUGE difference.. I don't think it'd be that hard to find an empty bucket. Before i went out and bought my grit guarded buckets, i used a mop bucket.. just clean it well and used it as my 2n'd bucket.

As for mits go, i use two mitts, 100% sheep wool and Meguiars Microfiber one. I use the microfiber one for the bottom half of my car, and the sheep wool for the hood/upper half of the car, I do this because my microfiber one is older and the bottom half is usually where the tough dirt is.

It'd sure be better and cheaper to pick up a spare bucket (with grit guard) than to use a bunch of mits. That said, I like the Meguiars microfiber and their chenelle (sp) mits. Both have help up a long time and I just throw them in the washing machine after use.

I've been using Meguiar's Super Thick Wash Mitt X-3002 and it's awesome, it's very durable, been using it some like a year or so and it's almost new (I wash my car every week)

I use a Viking MF mitt and wash it after every car wash. So far no problems with longevity.

I use the microfiber mitt, from Meguiars. It is a wonderful wash mitt. I just throw it in the washer when I am done. It comes out good as new.

I also think it would be better for you in the long run get yourself another bucket.
