  • wash & dry

    Hi everyone,

What does everyone use for a car wash? Just meg wash solution, mite & brush?

Do you dry the car with a chamois afterwards? If not, how do you dry the car without waiting a couple hours for it to dry naturally?

    Re: wash & dry

There are many, many threads around about what people use to wash and dry.

I personally use a Meguiars Micro-Fiber wash mitt, natural sheepskin mitt, and here lately Ive been wanting to try a grout sponge(alot of talk on autopia about them). Megs Gold Class soap, NXT soap, and megs Shampoo plus are a few of my favorite soaps.

To dry I use a Meguiars Waffle Weave or a California Waffle weave. Both great drying towels.

Here is what I do.... Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo mixed according to the bottle and a sheepskin mitt, then I rinse with an open flow of water and dry the remaining with a Meguiars Waffle Weave towel or two. But like mentioned above there are tons of threads on this subject for the methods and/or products used but after trying several Meguiars washes and drying towels the above seems to work best for me.

What I do first is to wash the wheels, then I soak the paint, lots of water to it and using my microfiber wash mitt and the two bucket method I was my car.

Drying it, if the car is in good condition, then you can take the nozzle off and just let water fall, glide, in the paint, this will leave a couple of water left behind, with my water magnet I absorb those spots and so on.
