In addition to a auto paint supply, you can try hardware stores. In most cases they will have the green and / or the blue "painters tape"

      Both work great !!

I looked at both Home Depot and Lowes and narrowest they had was 3/4".

I usually pick mine up at Wally World. They carry a variety of widths and both green and blue.

            Hey,

Most people use the 3M blue painters tape, 14 day safe release as it is easy to find and works great! But it is limited in widths.

However, what I use and what Mike uses in the video is 3M 233+ Masking Tape. I use in it 3 sizes: 12mm, 18mm, and 36mm depending on what it is that I am wanting to tape. You will need to go to an Auto Body Supply store. Do not buy the cheap darker green masking tape sold at Home Centres as it is not the same and does not work very well.

You can see the tape in this photo on the counter in the background. There is two different sizes there:

                Tim,

Is that an Avalon? I noticed you masked the hood edges. I have a Camry and it seemed like the edges were flush enough (actually, I was hoping they were) that I wouldn't have to take the time and mask all that. I have yet to use my G110 until after I attend class this Saturday.

I assume you masked the trunk as well?

                Thanks,

                Rob

I think he taped them because this is when he used the rotary on it, IIRC. "Better safe than sorry."

Tim's a master, so just follow suit and you'll be alright.

You can get that tape in the auto section of walmart. Saw it in ours the other day.

I use and prefer the Scotch 233+ Performance Masking Tape. It can be found at Wal-Mart if your lucky, but usually they’ll only carry one size (3/4" I think). I like having several different sizes; in some places the larger sizes cover more than you want and are just a waste as well as being harder to work with.
I was getting the 233+ from a friend, but that is no longer an option. So, I started getting the 233+ from tcp global (google) and have been pleased with their prices and service. They’ll have all the sizes you’ll need.....
