  • Rusted Chrome Wheels - Need a DIY Fix... Suggestions?

I purchased a set of 18" 6 lug after-market chrome truck wheels off someone for a dollar... $1.00 (to refinish and re-sell.) The reason being, two of them are dirty, and can't be cleaned by hand with out chrome polish I guess (the wheels were never rotated.) So the two that came off the front of the vehicle, are rusted all over so much that after I washed them they still appear brown all over.

Is there going to be any at home method I can use to try and restore the chrome finish, or am I going to need to have them blasted and repainted or re-chromed in order to make them look like new.

There are no scratches, or dents, etc on the wheels they are in great shape.

Thanks in advance for the advice

You'll need to have them re-chromed if you want them to have a chrome finish and match the other two wheels.

Alright, fair enough I guess for the price I can't complain!
