  • Dilution ratio for claying

Hey guys, newbie here and in need of some advice.

Here's the deal. I want to clay the whole of my car. The last time I did this I used up around 1 bottle of QD. Now Meg's products here in Malaysia are priced a bit on the high end side amongst car care product and QD is not that useful here for doing any cleaning in-between washes due to our dusty and humid climate. I only have less than half a bottle of QD left so instead of using QD can I opt for some other products that I already have as lubricant? I heard that car washes can also be used. I have the followings:

    1. Hyperwash
    2. NXT wash
    3. Shampoo Plus

Which will be the next best thing to use and in what dilution ratio.

    Thanks.

I've heard in the long run the soapy water will cause the clay to break down faster. However with the cost of QD for you I would go ahead and use it. I've used it a few times without any problems. For dilution ratio I use the same as I wash with.

      BlueZero nailed it

While some people use a carwash as a clay lubricant, we don't recommend that process as our 1st choice because it will prematurely breakdown the clay bar. If you know you will not be reusing the clay bar over and over...this may be a good choice

With that said, use the normal dilution that each carwash recommends. Approx 1 oz per gallon of water.
