    Porter 7424 or G110, is one better?

    Hi, I am new at this. I have a new BMW and want to keep it looking great. I hand wash the car and would like to know if anyone feels that either one of the above is better for a novice, better features, etc. for applying and taking off wax. I have three other vehicles, so I plan on making them all look good!

    Hey Flarp,

    I currently own a G-100 which is basically the same machine as the Porter Cable 7424. Tim, 2hotford, just did a real nice review of the new G-110. You can find it here, New G-110 Review!

    If you didn't get the 7424 I would suggest going with the new G-110. It has more power and you can adjust the handle to make it easier to work on horizontal or flat surfaces.

      Thanks 101 Impala. Can you recommend the right pads to use for putting on and taking off the wax?

        Hey Flarp,

        You can find what you are looking for here: "Product, Pad and Speed settings for the porter cable dual action polisher"
        It is a little outdated but these product and pad combinations are the same for the G-110. You should really check out a lot of the posts in the Dual Action Polisher section.

          G110 is the way to go.
          I have personally used it at the Open Garage and it is much better than the PC.
          G110 has more torque and does not bog down. Plus, there is less vibration and comes in a nice carry case. For about the same price G110 is worth it.

            Has anyone thought about why Meguiar's had a lifetime warranty on their G100 (Porter Cable 7424) and a one year warranty on their G110?
