  • I like the rain... But not after I've detailed...

So yesterday i spent about 3 hours detailing my girl. Being a noob i followed the 4 steps, following up today with the 5th, of washing the car. But i was kind of annoyed to learn that it's gonna rain in a couple of days. My question is, what do most of you do to clean the car after it has been raining? do you just use a lot of QD? or just give the girl another wash followed with a QD wipedown?

If it's going to rain in a couple of days, I'm sure the wax will have enough time to cure. If it does rain, I always wipe it down if it doesn't have too much dirt on it.

Tell me about it, not only does that bug me, but as my whip is not garaged, after I detail it and LSP with NXT 2.0, the same night I'll have a damp front that rolls in and covers my car notwithstanding it's drizzled wet most mornings and with little bugs that seem to be attracted to NXT 2.0.
At any rate, my plan of attack is the next day when not as bad sometimes is to QD and maximize my finish's hydrophobic layer with more hydrophobic protection by UQD'ing the entire car. Then after a day or two when it starts getting more dusty I'll grab the garden hose, but before I continue I'll cover my shined and clean wheels with some plastic, cause I am not in the mood to redo my tires if they get wet. So next, I unscrew the hoses spray nozzle and softly pour water over the entire car flushing away any dust and debris. Next, after I dry it, I will proceed to the good part, of generously UQD'ing the entire car again. When finished I wipe my brow acknowledging a nice save and beautifully clean and glossy finish in about a 1/2 hrs time that's indistinguishable from the full treatment that runs about 2-3 hrs that'll be coming up in about a handful of days!
