• Help me develop a system for my car?

Ok, so I just got a brand new C-Class, from Mercedes Benz. Love it, and I want to keep it looking better than ever. Here is the regimen I used with my Japanese sedan, and I used it this weekend on my new Mercedes:

Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash (love this stuff)

Used Klasse All in One, for its polishing properties
Used Klasse Gloss/Sealant 2x
Used P21S carnauba wax

The results were stunning, to me. Car feels and looks simply gorgeous. They wish it looked that good on the lot. ha-ha. Then I use quick detailer to touch it up.

However, from my research it seems that despite how much I'm spending on those products, some Meguiar's stuff might actually be better? I already love the Gold car wash, and the quick detailer, and I have some scratch X that I have on hand, if ever needed (hope not too often on this car fingers crossed haha).

However, I think I may need to switch more of my main products to Meguiar's, what might be a good routine? I'm a bit confused by all the numbers people mention, and where to buy those? I don't mind if it is a pretty complex and lengthy procedure, the results are always worth it.

Today i picked up the $25 kit that has the Ultimate detailer and NXT 2.0 amongst some other items. Really got it for those two.

However, I know I'd need other products on the car before the NXT 2. What would you recommend? Also, what kind of polisher? Do you need to use the polisher yet, when you have a brand new car? Also, since I just put my regimen above (the klasse, klasse gloss, and P21s wax) on my car this weekend could I wait a couple weeks, and then do my new regimen that you guys help me put together (and once the products you recommend arrive)? How long do you guys go between waxing? I used to do it every couple weeks with my old car, but that seems a bit over the top, and I got a bit burned out.

Thanks again. Looking forward to continue enjoying my car and a brilliant shine. Great forum here. You guys know so much, and take such great care of your beautiful cars!

Oh, if you need to know color of car to help: It is a darkish silver. Darker than normal silver, but not grey.

I can certainly get a month and a half at least out of a waxing with #21 Synthetic Sealant. The new products should be even better.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Here's a link to help with the number confusion:
NOTE: If you are looking for a more complete list of Meguiars product line follow this link: Meguiars Product List (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18857) Meguiars Online Acronyms #00 = Hi-Tech Wash (http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-car-washes/Hi-Tech

First of all, a clay kit is necessary. Even though it is new, there will be rail dust and other bonded things. Second, I would purchase a paint cleaner like DC1. If there are swirls and scratches, use the ScratchX.

All the above products mentioned and the ones contained in the kit can be used by hand. The most common polisher is referred to as the PC or G100 Dual Action Polisher. This sort of polisher can remove moderate defects and apply protectants better than by hand.

The protectant interval really depends on the user and the conditions. I protect my car every three months, but I'm picky. Six months is about the maximum under ideal conditions and properly maintaining the paint - detailer spray of some sort or 'booster' wax.

Re: Help me develop a system for my car?

a quick tip, meguiars has a configuration program that customizes a plan for your car. I think it only recommends from the consumer line, which is a negative. I don't know how it works, but it will probably help you.

it helped me understand which products create different looks

here is the link to MeguiarsRX, and good luck

Thanks.

Could someone just post their entire process, and I'll copy you. ha-ha.

I definitely want to use the pro products too, so the RX thing didn't give me all I needed.

Re: Help me develop a system for my car?

What you need to do will depend on the condition of your car and what it is exposed to. Here is my process:

1. Gold Class Wash (although I have not washed my Z in 3 years.)

2. Clay (Don't need to do that to often on the Z since it is not exposed to poor weather)

3. #80

4. #7

5. NXT Tech Wax (with my next detail, coming soon, I am going to try #26 instead of the NXT to see if it gives a deeper richer color/shine)

6. Ultimate Quick Detailer to maintain.
