  • Need Help!!!

I am trying to remove cobweb scratching on a white 2001 dodge intrepid that has factory paint.I started with #80 with the g100 polisher with the yellow pad i went over it two or three times and it seemed to help some but not a lot.My question is when do you know when to change and go to the next product up in the line or to go to the rotary buffer.I am very confused about how many attempts i should make with each product before going to the next.

I will step up the product after about four passes in a 2ftx2ft area.

The next step up after #80 and a polishing pad is #83 and a polishing pad. After that, it's off to the rotary.

If you have to go to the rotary is it the same process as with the G100 do you go back to #80 and start over with four passes and then go to #83

Do you already have a rotary?

Yes, the process is almost the same. From my experience, the rotary can do a lot with even the light cleaners. You don't have to use a compound and a wool pad to use a rotary.

I have the makita Rotary and i am a new user.I do have a question about the amount of pressure to apply with the rotary. So people say just use the weight of the machine.Others say you have to apply a certain amount of pressure with it.Who is right?

Gotta love the Makita! I've got one, too.

You want to use a little pressure when start - I mean a little. As you continue polishing, lighten up until it is just the weight of the machine.
