    Re: New Paint

from 3M’s Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film FAQ:

    Q. Will the paint smear if Scotchgard™ Paint Protection Film is applied over a newly painted vehicle?
    A. The paint on a newly painted vehicle must be cured according to manufacturer's recommendations. Your body shop should be able to provide you with this information.

    PC.

(note: Although body shops should be able to provide you with the manufacturer's recommendations, most don’t. Never trust a body shop’s cure time recommendation unless they're quoting direct from the paint manufacturer’s directions.)

My thoughts exactly. The manager of the body shop actually said I should apply the 3M ScotchGuard right away to avoid new stone chips. This cannot be right.

      I think I will wait 1-2 months.
