  • First Time #83, #80

Detailed my daughter's 1995 Toyota Corolla. It's white-- so not much to show in the reflections. It was the 2nd time I've used the DA polisher and the first with the #83 and #80.

    Products/Process:
    1. (had her run through the automatic car wash)
    2. Gunk Bug & Tar Remover
    3. Smooth Surface Clay Kit
    4. #83
    5. #80
    6. Cleaner Wax
    7. #21
    8. #40 interior and exterior rubber and vinyl
    9. Quik Interior Detailer
    10. Windex Glass Cleaner
    11. Hot Wheels Tire Shine
Can't wait to go to class in June and see how it's really supposed to be done.

    Here's the pics.

Final Result: I think the gloss could be brought out more on the roof, trunk and spoiler, but it's clean and looks good = happy daugher.

I'm sure a pro could zap the rest of that garage door trim paint off the bumper, but this is about the best I could do with a polishing pad and #83.

Looks great! I like doing cars like that since they are so easy to buff. My Jeep it one of the hardest things to try and use #80 on.

Its usually best to give them a good hand wash before using the PC on the paint. A drivethrough car wash does not remove all the dirt and you could possibly cause more scratches when claying. Just a thought..

Drive thru car washes can scratch too so be careful. Otherwise looks great for 12 year old paint. Invest in some NXT glass cleaner you'll never go back to windex **** again.

Great job! This should be in Show Off! Some PlastiX would be a good next product for you. It will really do a nice job of getting some shine back in those lights and turn signals. It looks like the headlights may have a little condensation in them but I can see a little haze on top of the turn signal also. Plastix will take care of that haze no problem. Good job on the paint transfer on the bumper also. You can see the gloss you added on the bumper in that after pic as well.

Good work. The car looks great for 12 year old paint. Way to go.

              Thanks for the compliments.

I should have mentioned that I'm sold on hand washing --2 bucket, Grit Guard, etc. I figured any damage from one more wash would be incidental... Hadn't thought about the clay possibly adding to them. Hopefully, she'll keep it washed or have me do it. If I show her how to do it "our way" she might enjoy it. Of course, she'd probably want to do it in the sun.

I will add PlastiX and the NXT glass cleaner to my next order.
