Hi all. I just registered and just ordered a new PC. After years of handwaxing hiatus (had another little boy 6 months ago; the oldest is turning 3), I figured the new PC will allow me to keep our kiddie mobiles looking decent. In the past, I used clay bar and handwaxed using A-12 and GC liquid. So here are my question:[LIST=1][*]My moving neighbor gave me slightly used Gold Class Swirl Remover (he

Re: New here... GC Swirl Remover? Product questions
The Gold Class Clear Coat Prep and Swirl Reducer was a light cleaner/polish probably similar to our M09 Swirl Remove 2.0 in our Professional Line.
It can be applied by hand, orbital buffer, or dual action polisher.
It's very light or gentle in it's cleaning ability so if this product doesn't remove the below surface defects you're trying to remove then you'll want to get a more aggressive product.

Re: New here... GC Swirl Remover? Product questions
Oops again. Let me try again, please bear with me
So here are my question:
1. My moving neighbor gave me slightly used Gold Class Swirl Remover. He had it inside his house, so not exposed to tx summer garage. He bought it in 2000/01. I vaguely remember somebody telling me that Meguiars products have long shelf life when stored properly. Is it still usable? How does it compare to the current Meguiars lineup? I was hoping that it is gentle enough to use it to get the hang of the new PCSomeone said it on MOL: I'll detail my car this weekend... wife permitting.

Yes Mike, that is the one. Is it still usable since it is 6/7 years old?

3. The main reason my wife let me splurge was that I could help her aunt s 95 black Nissan Sentra looking better before selling it later this year. I think it is a non-clear coat black with uniformly bad oxidation all over. Her aunt is not expecting a miracle (she does not even know what swirling is). Since I am ordering some pads for ADS, I would like to get some cleaner that is not available locally (in Austin TX, the autopart stores only carry M02 fine cut and M09). But after some reading, I am a little intimidated by M83. Should I get the friendlier M80 and do extra passes if it does not cut it the first time? I know I want both, but I got initial budget limitation
Sorry for the long post. I know I will have more question when the PC gets here. So thanks in advance for any feedbackSomeone said it on MOL: I'll detail my car this weekend... wife permitting.

The pigment used to make black paint is carbon black, it's a soft material and adding it to a resin acts to make the resin soft also.
Have fun and take some good before and after pictures, maybe even run a tape line down the middle of the hood.
